Golf Country Club Cannes-Mougins - Oil mill
The Cannes Country Club was founded in 1923 by a group of illustrious gentlemen including the Aga Khan, Prince Pierre of Monaco and Baron Edouard de Rothschild.

This sumptuous golf course nestles in the heart of the Valmasque forest in a protected environment, unique on the French Riviera.

The course was completely re-designed by Peter Allis and Dave Thomas in 1978 and hosted the Cannes Open in 1980, and again between 1988 and 1994 when it was incorporated into the European Tour schedule. Winners of the tournament include such golfing luminaries as Severiano Ballesteros, Ian Woosnam and Mark McNulty.

Golf Country Club Cannes-Mougins - EntranceSophisticated ambiance

The clubhouse exudes a very sophisticated ambiance, so typical of the Côte d’Azur. It’s set in a magnificent walled estate that’s overlooked by an 18th century oil mill and surrounded by oaks, pine-trees and fields of jasmine.

With wide fairways and fast, yet subtlety contoured greens, Golf Country Club Cannes-Mougins presents one good hole after another in what is an uncomplicated “out and back” design. In our opinion, certainly a must to include in your golfing itinerary.
