Golf d’Arcangues offers an interesting and varied 18 holes across undulating terrain, as well as a newly constructed short game area.
Beautifully laid out around the Chateau d’Arcangues, this course takes you through oak trees and acres of meadows before opening out onto stunning mountain views.
No visit is complete until you’ve enjoyed breakfast or early evening drinks on the terrace of the restored 16th-century clubhouse while taking in the scenery.
With the majestic Pyrénées as a constant backdrop, it would be tough not to enjoy this course or the great lunches on offer in the clubhouse overlooking the 1st and 18th holes.
Golfing at its best
With its mix of tree lined and more generous fairways, there’s something to challenge players of all levels here. The landscape will certainly test your calf muscles though fortunately, buggies are available.
A word of warning: As you pass the Chateau on the 15th hole and spot the imposing pine tree on the edge of the green, you’re likely to have one of those ‘isn’t it good to be alive’ moments. It really is a stunning sight.
